Somerset West and Taunton's motorists will have four road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

But drivers will be able to take some solace in the fact that all of them are only expected to cause slight delays, of less than 10 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

M5, from 8pm July 25 to 6am August 31, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 both directions, junction 25 to 24 diversion route on behalf of Somerset County Council.

M5, from 9pm July 11 to 4am October 27, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 both directions, junction 20 to 31 - mobile lane closure for drainage works.

And a further two closures will begin over the next seven days:

M5, from 9pm August 15 to 4am August 16, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 26 to 25 - lane closure for safety barrier repairs.

M5, from 9pm August 17 to 5am August 18, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 Both Directions, junction 24 to junction 26 Lane closure for Construction.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
