WOOTTON Courtenay rider Jack Capel has just returned from Calgary, Canada, where he rode for Great Britain at the International Mounted Games.
The team clinched the silver medal, narrowly beaten by the Australian squad.
Five riders from Britain rode in the competition, using borrowed ponies.
Team trainer Marion Harding said: "The team were fantastic - they rode extremely well, getting on with the new ponies quickly. I am very proud of their achievement."
The competition was the culmination of the three-week visit, which included the Calgary Stampede and visits to the Rocky mountains.
Jack, aged 16, had home-grown support from local landlord Pip and Marlene Richards' daughter, Alison, who managed to find Jack among the 30,000 strong crowd at Spruce Meadows!
Jack's adventures did not stop there.
On his return, he landed at Heathrow and went straight to an interview for Sir Alan Sugar's Young Apprentice in London.
And that was followed by a quick change around as he accompanied his mum Bella and brother Rory in the horse lorry down to Marseilles for the European Mounted Games Championships. The final of the Europeans will be held on Monday.
