THE things people will do to avoid buying a parking ticket!
Motorists in Porlock Weir car park on Monday afternoon were astonished to see this bright red Citroen high and dry on top of the car park’s boundary wall.
A driver who arrived at the car park shortly afterwards said: “I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. People were helping the driver, an elderly man, out of the car. He was pretty shocked but not hurt.
“He had apparently mistaken the wall for a ramp on to the road, put the car in first gear and gone for it!
“It seems the car wasn’t badly damaged while it was on the wall, but was much worse by the time the recovery crew got it off.
“I’d love to see his explanation to his insurance company!”
