A WOMAN suffered serious injuries in a collision between a car and a lorry on the A39 between Nether Stowey and Holford on Tuesday morning.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said the woman was "severely trapped" and crews had to stabilise the car before using two sets of hydraulic rescue equipment to free her.
A police press office spokesman said the woman suffered potentially life-threatening face, leg and pelvic injuries.
However, she was unable to give any further details about the woman, the type of vehicles involved or whether the vehicles were travelling in the same or opposite directions.
The road was closed for around seven hours following the crash.
