Re the comments by Denise Gear about Culvercliffe (Letters July 21), whilst I can appreciate the point about the sea view from the seats, I think that any cutting back would need to be done with sensitivity.
The essential spirit of the place is that of a transition between town and country and to be there gives a tantalising taste of the wilder (and less accessible) coastal path to the west.
What some may call weeds others gain pleasure from seeing and identifying.
Along the Culvercliffe walk there is a diversity of wild plants - mustard, burdock, sorrel, tamarisk, mallow and alexanders to name but a few.
In my view to make it too tidy would be to detract from the delightful semi-naturalised character of the area.
