A NEW video has been released by EDF with Hinkley Point C project delivery director Simon Parsons taking viewers behind the scenes as the site focus shifts to a new phase.

With the civil construction work nearing completion and the second reactor house dome in place, attention is now firmly on the power station’s fit out with pipes, cables, and equipment.

Thanks to innovation and the experience gained from unit one, the Hinkley construction teams are building the second unit 20 to 30 per cent faster, with prefabrication now approaching 60 per cent.

Everything learned from the Hinkley C site will benefit the UK’s next new nuclear build project, Sizewell C, from the start.
