POLICE are searching for a dog and her three young puppies which were stolen after a burglary at a house in Lydeard St Lawrence last weekend.

The dog, named Sassie, a grey and white Malshi (shih tzu cross Maltese), disappeared with her three miniature poodle cross puppies.

An Avon and Somerset police spokesman said: “The dogs were stolen sometime between 8.30 pm on Saturday and 2.30pm on Sunday.”

Anyone who saw anything suspicious in the village between those times is asked to call 101 and give the reference number 5219219446.
