THE West Somerset Steam Coast Trail, which is about to open its Phase Two path between Dragon’s Cross and Washford, has appointed a new project officer.
Sarah Ellwood, from Watchet, will oversee the launch, maintenance and promotion of the 1.1km Phase Two project, which will be open to the public at the end of September.
The new path will link up with the Dunster Beach to Blue Anchor Bay section, which has become a major tourist attraction since in it opened in 2016.
Harry Singer, chairman of the Friends of The Steam Coast Trail, said: “I’m really pleased to welcome Sarah to the team.
“I’m also very grateful to our last project manager, Briony Turner, for her hard work and dedication over the last few years.
“Phase Two is looking fantastic and will be open to walkers, cyclists, runners, wheelchairs and responsible dog owners.”
