VOLUNTEERS are needed to lend a hand at this year’s Samphire Festival, the independent music and arts festival held above Porlock next week (July 7 to 9).

Samphire got off to a debut sell-out picking up ‘Best Small Festival 2016’ in the NOEA Awards.

This year’s event is set to be even more of a success, so the organisers are looking for some enthusiastic people to help them.

Co-founder Josh Beauchamp said: “Not only do you get a free ticket to our awesome festival but you get to be part of our awesome team! Plus our site is small and intimate so you’re never going to be far from the action and they’ll be plenty of time to party and enjoy the music!”

The stewards, medical and litter teams all need extra hands.

Stewards work two seven-hour shifts each day and are given hot food and a free ticket. The medical team needs qualified first aiders to work three seven-hour shifts and will also get a free ticket and hot food plus a petrol contribution.

And the litter team works three two-hour shifts plus five hours clearing up on Monday. They will be rewarded with a free ticket, coffee or tea and biscuits.

Headlining this year’s festival are Crazy P, The Correspondents, Resonators, Flamingods, The Langan Band and Felix Dickinson.

The 1000 capacity party also offers award winning street food, giant human snakes and ladders, immersive theatre talks, films, yoga, wild adventures and samphire foraging among other activities.

Tickets are available via the Samphire Festival website.
