Two students from Lufton Manor College in Yeovil have spoken about their "fantastic" four-day sail from Plymouth to Cardiff via Ireland.
Thanks to the Rotary Club of Yeo Vale (RCYV), Rachel Atkinson and Richard Larder were made crew members aboard The Lord Nelson, a three-mast sailing ship owned by The Jubilee Sailing Trust.
The sail took place last month and Rachel and Richard attended a recent RCYV meeting to tell members about the adventure. Their duties included washing decks, four-hour watches, hauling sails, manning the wheel and helping out with cooking in the galley.
Despite the hard work, they described the whole thing as "fantastic". A RCYV spokesperson said: "The RCYV is continuing to raise funds to enable other local youngsters to enjoy the unforgettable experience of sailing aboard one of The Jubilee Sailing Trust's two ships."
