WESTMINSTER Abbey came to West Somerset yesterday (Thursday) as pupils at Exford First School staged their own mini royal wedding in honour of today's historic nuptials between Prince William and Kate Middleton.

More than 100 pupils compete in annual West Somerset schools gymnastics competitionHeadteacher Janet West turned her classroom into the abbey for the occasion, while children chose music, hymns and readings for the event itself.
Everyone attended school in their best clothes as they enjoyed a mock wedding service - featuring Wills and Kate mannequins - followed by a special three course lunch.
The celebrations were capped off with an afternoon of storytelling and dancing.
Staff and friends of the school also donated their own wedding memorabilia, including dresses, photographs and invitations, for a suitably themed exhibition in the school library.
