Drivers in and around Somerset West and Taunton will have six National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

But the news isn't too bad, with all of them only expected to cause slight delays, of under 10 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

• A30, from 8pm October 27 2022 to 5am April 4 2023, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 both directions, junction 20 to 31 mobile lane closures for drainage works.

And a further five closures will begin over the next seven days:

• M5, from 9pm January 13 to 6am January 14, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 Both Directions, junction 25 to junction 26 lane closure for barrier repair.

• M5, from 9pm January 16 to 6am January 17, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 both directions, junction 26 lane closures for electrical works.

• M5, from 9pm January 16 to 6am January 19, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 26 to 27 - lane closures for survey works.

• M5, from 9pm January 19 to 6am January 21, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 27 to 26 - lane closure for survey works.

• M5, from 9pm January 19 to 6am January 21, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 26 to 27 - lane closures for survey works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
