Drivers in and around Somerset West and Taunton will have four National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.
And one of them is expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing a holdup of between 10 and 30 minutes.
The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:
• M5, from 8pm October 27 2025 to 6am February 7 2026, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 26 narrow lanes for drainage works.
• A30, from 8pm April 1 2025 to 4am April 1 2026, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 both directions, junction 20 to 31 mobile lane closures for drainage works.
And a further two closures will begin over the next two weeks:
• M5, from 9pm November 28 to 6am November 29, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 25 exit slip road closure for barrier repairs. Diversion via M5 southbound, exit, junction 26, return northbound.
• M5, from 8pm December 1 to 6am December 6, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 27 to 25 carriageway closure to install narrow lanes for drainage works, diversion via A38.
National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
