A CHANCE topic discussed at a stroke patients group has led to an exhibition that opens tomorrow (Friday) of photographs by one of its members who is partially paralysed and suffers with problems with communication.
Reg Webber, 82, who lives in a Minehead nursing home, is a member of a group to support people who have had strokes.
Reg, a former carpenter who travelled the world, worked on a yacht in the Mediterranean and lived in Austria and abroad, suffers from aphasia - inability to communicate.
At one of their fortnightly meetings at Williton Hospital, the group was invited to bring in objects for discussion on the theme of the countryside – and the members were bowled over by photographs Reg had on his laptop, which he had taken before his stroke.
No-one had ever seen them and group volunteers Maggie King and Diane Evans were so impressed that they organised an exhibition of 25 of the photographs, which will be at the Regal Theatre in Minehead until December 3.
