This year’s Weirfest looks set to be bigger than ever with the addition of a mini regatta and rowing challenge.
The festival, based at The Bottom Ship Inn in Porlock Weir, will see thousands of visitors sampling a selection of more than 50 real ales and ciders on offer.
Running over four days, from Thursday to Sunday (July 4 to 7), the event will also now see Porlock Weir Gig Club organising a mini regatta on Sunday from 10.45am and a rowing machine challenge for quickest time over 200 metres on the Saturday and Sunday.
The challenge will raise money for Simon Antonelli and the RNLI.
There will be plenty of live music with 12 local bands taking to the stage day and night.
Bullet Train kick off the Thursday night while Friday will feature Merv and His Magic Tones and Lucky 13, with Silverback rounding off the night.
Saturday will welcome Bossa Beleza, Exmoor Do Dahs, Grouvecat, Time Travellers and ska band Shoot The Moon, while Sunday visitors will listen to the Dark Town Strutters, Levi and The Bean and the ever-popular Rough Justice.
There will also be souvenir t-shirts and glasses, using the new Weirfest colourful logo, on sale. For food there will be plenty on offer with a barbecue, hog roast and a cake stall selling a variety of sweet treats run by Porlock Weir based Bake Me Crazy.
Entry to the festival is free and a minibus, costing £1 each way, will run between the Top Ship Inn in Porlock and the Bottom Ship Inn in Porlock Weir on the Thursday and Friday nights and from 12 noon until late on Saturday and Sunday.
