WILLITON firefighters had a shaggy dog tale of their own when they were called out to rescue a trapped puppy - from a sofa.

The unfortunate canine was trapped by the neck after getting tangled in the mechanism of the soft furnishing.

Firefighters were called to the scene in Ramon Avenue, Watchet, just before 7.30pm on Friday evening and were able to release the puppy unharmed.
