FORMER pupils and current supporters of St Michael's First School in Minehead are being encouraged to buy-a-brick to literally become part of the school's history.
Members of the school's Parents' and Teachers' Association (PTA) are creating a "wall of supporters" to celebrate their ambitious plans to build a replacement school pool.
Supporters have already donated more than £80,000 to the project, which recently saw the completion of a new building over the refurbished pool.
The pool itself will soon be opening its doors to swimmers and to mark the occasion the PTA is building a commemorative wall of supporters.
In exchange for £25, supporters can have their names engraved on a brick which will be set within the wall.
"We would be delighted to hear from ex-pupils and friends of the school who want to ensure that children can learn to swim in Minehead," Tracey Sweetland of the PTA said.
She said the association had worked tirelessly to raise the funds needed for the new pool, with a handful of parents giving almost every spare minute of their time to help the appeal.
"The PTA is continuing to sell raffle tickets for Olympic Ted and his autograph book - he was donated by Exmoor Teddy Bears and tickets are just £1 each.
"The grand draw to find his new owner will be held at the grand opening of the new pool," Tracey said.
