Their cheque was presented to Derek Williams, who is standing down after organising the RNLI's Blue Anchor to Minehead raft race for more than 30 years.
Much of the money was raised in sponsorship by the three Valiant Soldier teams who entered this year's event.
Further income was generated by a skittles week, quiz nights and participation in the annual Beacon to Beach run.
* STAFF and customers from the Lowtrow Cross Inn in Upton have raised £1,752 from an annual event named after a humble vegetable.
The traditional Marrow Sunday auction takes place every year and this year's proceeds were donated to the cancer care unit at the Beacon Centre at Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton.
Organisers said the charity was chosen as it was close to the hearts of many local people.
