’SILENT stars’ in the community will once again be given recognition by Avon and Somerset Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) Sue Mountstevens.
The ’PCC Pride Awards highlight the work of those who go above and beyond in their local communities and is asking people to put forward nominations.
Mrs Mountstevens said: “It is an absolute pleasure to hear about the people behind the fantastic projects and initiatives across Avon and Somerset through my Pride Awards.
“There are many selfless people who dedicate their time to better their local community and it is incredibly humbling.
“These Pride Awards are for us all to take the time to acknowledge, recognise and say a big thank you to those individuals who consistently go above and beyond and who want to make where we live and work a better place to be.
“I look forward to again receiving some worthy applications and hearing truly inspiring stories.”
In her previous term as PCC, Mrs Mountstevens presented over 90 ’Pride Awards’ and recognised Neighbourhood Watch co-ordinators, police officers and local residents who dedicate their time to strengthening their communities.
PCC Pride Award winners will be presented with certificates at police headquarters and given lunch and an optional tour of the police call centre, where ‘101’ and ‘999’ calls are taken.
