PORLOCK pipped Williton by just half a point to win the West Somerset district cub flag in a competition postponed by foot and mouth.
The annual event should have been held in April at the Horner Wood camp site, but restrictions to control spread of the disease put the plans on hold.
Instead, two members of West Somerset district Scout Fellowship, Peter Curtis and Ron Blundell, visited all four cub packs during the course of the summer.
They spent an evening with each pack - Porlock, Williton, Watchet and Exmoor - and watched the youngsters tackle four activities.
