They managed to check from Hurlstone Point right along the ridge to the breach which was achievement in itself and important for the benefit of wildlife and visitors.
Ruth Hyett was the main organiser and Mike Dyer collected the bags of rubbish that could not be removed on the day.
Staff at Porlock Visitor Centre served refreshments and many people baked cakes to feed the troops.
The organisers wish to thank everyone who made the event possible, including the National Trust and Exmoor National Park staff for their time, vehicles and equipment.
