TWO popular Watchet hospitality venues became Pub and Club of the year for a total of 18 times when the CAMRA Somerset branch awards were announced this week.

Phil Emond, on behalf of the branch, presented Roy and Helen Chave of Watchet Esplanade Club with the award for Club of the Year 2024. The Chaves said: “We are delighted to get this award, which we have won eight times, including this year. We have also featured in the Good Beer Guide for over 15 years.”

There was also a tenth consecutive CAMRA Cider Pub of the Year award for Pebbles Tavern, whose manager, Dean Manley, paid tribute to his “amazing staff and loyal customers.”  Pebbles stocks over 30 brands of cider including many local brews.

Minehead’s Kildare Lodge was runner-up in Somerset’s CAMRA Pub of the Year and Club of the Year 2024 awards.
