STUDENTS at the West Somerset Community College in Minehead have been wearing their poppies with pride in the run-up to Armistice Day today and Remembrance Sunday this weekend.

Students have been selling Royal British Legion fundraising poppies to friends, visitors and college staff.

They have also been busy creating a new Remembrance Garden at the college entrance as a tribute to all who have and are serving in the Armed Forces.

Hannah Enticott, deputy principal, said: "The college will come together on Armistice Day for a formal remembrance assembly for all students and staff.

"The Last Post will be played by a student and representatives from the local cadet companies, wearing full dress uniform, will take part in a Colours parade."

The college's new Remembrance Garden will also be officially unveiled.
