A SPECIAL Christmas shop has sprung up at the Old Hospital in Minehead – and will help small charities that do not usually have the opportunity for festive fundraising.

The shop, organised by the Rotary Club of Minehead and the Quantocks, was officially opened last week when mayor Jean Parbrook cut the ribbon.

Now it will be open until Christmas and possibly longer, on Mondays to Saturdays, from 9.30am to 4.30pm, and will be run by different charities on each day.

So far, these include the Archie Project, Home Start, Lions Club and Rotary Club, but the organisers say they would be pleased to hear from other charities that want to get involved.

Small charities interested in taking part in the shop can contact local Rotary Club president Roger Andrews on 07729609068.
