POLLING cards are arriving through letterboxes in Taunton Deane and West Somerset for all those eligible to vote at the Somerset County Council elections on May 4.

The card shows where to vote and how to make arrangements for a postal or proxy vote.

Anyone can apply for a postal vote, whatever their reason, so long as they submit an application form to the councils’ joint election team before 5pm on Tuesday, April 18, which is also the deadline for a proxy vote application is 5pm on Tuesday, 25 April.

Postal vote packs will be sent out from Wednesday April 19 to those who have applied.

Anyone who does not receive their polling card in the coming days should check that they are on the Electoral Register by contacting Taunton Deane and West Somerset’s elections team on 01984 635276. The deadline for registration is midnight on April 13.
