Conservative Ian Liddell-Grainger has been re-elected as MP for the Bridgwater and West Somerset constituency.
He topped Thursday’s poll with a majority of 15,448 votes from second-placed Labour candidate Wes Hinckes.
Third was Liberal Democrat Marcus Kravis, fourth UKIP’s Simon Smedley and fifth the Green Party’s Kay Powell.
Mr Liddell-Grainger took 55.1 per cent of the votes and increased his majority from 14,583 at the 2015 election.
Labour’s share of the vote was up by 11 per cent and the Conservatives’ by 9.2 per cent as the UKIP vote collapsed.
There was a 65.4 per cent turnout, below the overall national figure of 68.7 per cent.
