WATCHET has become the first ’virtual poetry town’ in the UK with a ground-breaking project that goes live tomorrow (Saturday) along two miles of the Mineral Line.

The brainchild of professional storyteller Chris Jelley, the Poetry Pin operates from a website and allows people to post poetry along the trail. This can be picked up by mobile phone web browsers as walkers approach a pin marking the spot.

The Poetry Pin trail goes live today - Saturday, June 11.

A series of workshops, covering essential aspects of reading and posting poetry, will begin on Tuesday (June 14) at 7pm at Contains Art Courtyard, on Watchet’s East Quay.
