SIR — Minehead Development Trust would like to thank local artist Leo Davey for his delightful posters now adorning (and disguising!) Minehead's empty shops (Free Press August 10).

We greatly appreciate all the effort that brought this project to life - funding from town and district councils, West Somerset Railway and Exmoor National Park plus the Chamber of Trade's longstanding commitment to revitalising our town.

Thanks too to all who have pledged donations to the trust's campaign to acquire the old hospital for our community.

Pledges already total £10,000 but we still need more! Just £1 will do.

Of course, more will be welcome but our aim is for as many people as possible to pledge. This will help us demonstrate community support when we seek grant funding for the project.
