STAFF at Croft House care home in Williton have been awarded a ‘platinum’ rating for their Gold Standard Framework (GSF) award.

The GSF award is presented to care homes that can provide a ‘gold standard’ of care to residents nearing the end of their lives. This support extends to the residents’ family, ensuring that they get the support needed at this difficult time.

The team at Croft House was given a final score of 44 out of 50 and achieved an outstanding five ‘excellents’ across the board.

One of the ‘excellent’ areas was dementia care. The report touched on Croft House’s involvement in the inter-generational Archie project with local schools and Reminiscence Learning.

An ‘excellent’ was also given for the staff’s relationship with local GP surgeries and nurse practitioner Jane Beagle.

The report said: “Throughout the visit it was clear to see that staff had a very good rapport with the residents treating them with dignity and respect.”

Croft House manager Tracey Delbridge said: “We’re delighted to have achieved a ‘platinum’ status for our recent Gold Standard Framework award.

“I’m really proud of the team who have worked really hard to imbed the GSF values and deliver a gold standard of care.”
