I share Keith Cook’s annoyance at Lloyds Pharmacy’s decision to pack prescriptions in non-recyclable plastic bags (Letters Niovember 16).

It beggars belief that a company would suddenly introduce this practice when there is so much publicity about phasing out plastic.

I would like to think that the bags would be responsibly recycled if we were to leave them behind on the counter, but would that message really get back to the people at the hub where the packing takes place?

Lloyds is a business and businesses need to make a profit, so if it starts losing customers then that is something it cannot ignore.

I very quickly moved my repeat prescriptions to another, local pharmacy which still happily uses paper.
