PUBLIC notices cover a number of applications, ranging from licensing applications for liqueur or entertainment to planning applications, roadworks, and other works.

Their intention is to inform communities of the latest plans in their area and such applications are considered for approval or refusal by local authorities.

Here are some of the latest applications submitted to Somerset Council for the West Somerset and Exmoor areas:

• Sea Lane, Kilve, will be closed from Monday, October 13, to Friday, October 17, in order to enable Wessex Water to carry out chamber installation works.

• Higher Combe Drive, Dulverton, will be closed between the hours of 9.30am and 3.30pm on Friday, October 3, to enable Barr Engineering Ltd to carry out pole replacement works on behalf of Openreach.

• Church Street, Timberscombe, will be closed from Monday, September 29, to Friday, October 3, to enable Wessex Water to carry out new connection works.

• Weacombe Road, West Quantoxhead, will be closed between the hours of 9.30am and 3.30pm on Tuesday, October 14, to enable Openreach to carry out pole replacement works.

• Pound Orchard, Crowcombe, will be closed from Monday, October 13, to Friday, October 17, in order to enable Network Plus to connect an overhead line to the underground infrastructure on behalf of National Grid.

• High Street, Dunster, will be closed overnight from 7pm on Monday, September 29, to 7am on Tuesday, September 30, in order to enable Walton Civil Engineering to carry out interim to permanent reinstatement gas mains works on behalf of Wales & West Utilities.

• Church Street, Dunster, will be closed overnight from 7pm on Monday, September 29, to 7am on Tuesday, September 30, to enable Walton Civil Engineering to carry out interim to permanent reinstatement gas mains works on behalf of Wales & West Utilities.

• Heathpoult Cross to Goosemoor Cross, in the parishes of Luxborough, Cutcombe and Exton, will be closed from Tuesday, September 30, to Wednesday, October 8, between the hours of 9.30am and 3.30pm, to enable Kiely Bros to carry out pre-surface dressing patching works on behalf of Somerset Highways.

• Goosemoor Cross to Blagdon, in the parishes of Luxborough, Cutcombe and Exton, will be closed from Tuesday, September 30, to Wednesday, October 8, between the hours of 9.30am and 3.30pm, to enable Kiely Bros to carry out pre-surface dressing patching works on behalf of Somerset Highways.
