PUBLIC notices cover a number of applications, ranging from licensing applications for liqueur or entertainment to planning applications, roadworks, and other works.
Their intention is to inform communities of the latest plans in their area and such applications are considered for approval or refusal by local authorities.
Here are some of the latest applications submitted to Somerset Council for the West Somerset and Exmoor areas.
Community hall construction affecting right of way
A change to the Methodist Chapel, Timberscombe, to a Community Hall has been proposed.
This is together with the creation of a balcony, chimney, disabled access, ramp, roof lights and associated works without complying with conditions ten (Ecology Licence) and 13 (Heritage) of approved application 6/34/22/111.
The Methodist Chapel is located on Church Street, Timberscombe, TA24 7TR.
Road closures in Watchet
Notice is hereby given that Somerset Council, in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, propose to make an order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along St Decumans Road, Watchet, from the junction with Severn Terrace to the junction with Gillams Close for a total distance of 27 metres.
This order will enable Openreach to carry out pole replacement works, and will be carried out on Wednesday, October 29, between 9.30am and 3.30pm. There is no alternative route for this closure.
In addition to the closure of South Road, Somerset Council has also proposed to make an Order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along South Road, Watchet, from the junction with Flowerdale Road.
This is necessary to enable Openreach to carry out pole replacement works. It will be in effect on Friday, October 31, between 9.30am and 3.30pm.
Other closures
Somerset Council propose to make an order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along Pound Orchard, Crowcombe, from the junction with Mark Herniman Hill, westwards for a total distance of 25 metres. This will enable Network Plus to connect an overhead line to the underground infrastructure on behalf of National Grid.
This will be in place from Monday, October 13, to Friday, October 17. There is no alternative route for this closure.
Furthermore, Somerset Council propose to make an Order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along Sampford Rocks, Sampford Brett, from the junction with Manor Farm Lane. This will be in effect between 9.30am and 3.30pm on Friday, October 31.
This is to enable Openreach to carry out poling works.
