Their intention is to inform communities of the latest plans in their area and such applications are considered for approval or refusal by local authorities.
Here are some of the latest applications submitted to Somerset Council for the West Somerset and Exmoor areas.
New gazebo requested at Minehead location
An application to construct a new gazebo at a location in Minehead has been received by Somerset Council.
Application 3/21/25/052 asks for the erection of new gazebo and summer house/store with alterations to the rear garden to improve access at Mirador, The Ball, Minehead.
It also calls for the replacement of existing timber windows with double glazed aluminium windows, including alterations to existing patio doors and a bay window.
The application has been listed as something that could affect a conservation area.
Weatherproofing works in Watchet
Another application that could affect a conservation area calls for weatherproofing improvements at HM Coastguard, The Esplanade, Watchet.
Application 3/37/25/012 requests the replacement of the roof, windows, rainwater goods, and external render for the purposes of weatherproofing, alongside addressing damp issues with various internal alterations and up grading of heating system.
Replacement of storage shed in Exford
A proposal has been made which may affect or be adjacent to a public right of way in Exford.
Application 6/10/25/022LB is calling for the demolition and replacement of the existing storage shed under regulation 3 of The Town & Country Planning General Regulations 1992.
This application is with regards to Exford Depot, Exford, TA24 7PY.
Dunster Castle boiler room works
An application has been put forward to conduct internal works within Dunster Castle, Dunster.
This application (6/10/25/022LB) requires listed building consent to conduct works involving the removal of a redundant oil tank and a section of non-significant brick infill within an earlier brick arch.
Further works also include the casting of a new concrete pad to facilitate future boiler installation.

Listed building consent is being requested for a proposed replacement window and door at West Lynch, Allerford.
