A UNIQUE development site with industrial heritage appeal and detailed planning consent for five open market homes has been put up for sale in West Somerset through property specialists Greenslade Taylor Hunt (GTH).
The former West Somerset Free Press printing works in North Street, Williton, is on the market at a guide price of offers in the region of £275,000.
Interested parties have until 12 noon on Friday, March 31, to submit offers on an unconditional basis.
The site, just off the A39, is close to the village centre.
he West Somerset Free Press will continue to operate its office from 5 North Street.
Detailed planning consent to transform the derelict print works into a mixed-use development was granted by Somerset West and Taunton Council in September, 2022.
The central historic core of the building will be converted to provide two two-bed apartments and two one-bed properties.
Although the building has heritage appeal, it is not listed.
However, the White Horse Hotel and abutting walls to the east and 1-3 North Street to the south are Grade II listed.
A new detached two-bedroom dwelling will be built to the north of the site and a new detached commercial building to the south side of the site.
The commercial building has been designed to be reconfigured to residential, subject to planning, should a buyer prefer this option.
A series of view mornings will take place at the site on March 1, 8, 15, and 22 which need to be booked in advance.
More information can be obtained and viewings can be arranged by contacting GTH’s development land and planning department on 01823 334466 or emailing [email protected] or [email protected]
