SIR — I would like to thank the people that stopped to help my mum at the bottom of The Holloway on Friday October 25 after she tripped and broke her arm quite severely.

Their kindness was of great comfort. I would also like to thank the nursing staff on duty, especially Iris and Alison, at the Treatment Centre at Minehead Hospital. They went above and beyond to make my mum feel at ease with the shocking situation.

It's amazing how many people do help in a crisis. This has renewed my faith in human kindness.

Mum is awaiting an operation to fix her arm and wanted me to pass on her thanks to you all.
