AN Alcombe pensioner has publicly thanked a group of schoolchildren who called an ambulance for her when she tripped and fell. Patricia Wardell, who is in her 70s, said she wanted to let people know that many young people in Minehead were caring and supportive. She has already telephoned the West Somerset Community College to ask staff to pass on her thanks to the three students. She said: "Groups of children often congregate outside our flats in Silvermead and they were the only ones who came to help me. "I was in terrific pain and had to be given gas and air, but these young people stayed with me until the ambulance arrived and made sure I was okay. "I want to say thank you to them - not all young people are bad."
