A GARDEN which has made headlines in daily newspapers and has been featured on television was opened up to the public last weekend. Patricia Holden allowed visitors to tour her creation in Catwell, Williton, to raise funds for one of her favourite charities, the RSPCA. Patricia, pictured, admits that her garden has grown from her "flights of fancy" and finds it easier to show enthusiasts around than to describe the result of her efforts in words. But one of the latest highlights, built by her husband John, is a thatched cottage, which provides a comfortable respite from her labours. "There are many different elements to the garden but you really have to see it - it's difficult to explain it," she said. Patricia, who is a keen reclamationist and loves to find new uses for objects that others discard, has yet to count up how much the two-day garden opening raised. "It was lovely but it was a lot of work and I'm not sure if I shall be doing it again." Photo: Steve Guscott.
