A PARTY was held at Dene Lodge, Alcombe, when Peggy Hale celebrated her 100th birthday on Wednesday, December 12 with a party at Dene Lodge, Alcombe.
Peggy was born in Abergavenny, from where she was able to see Steep Holm island, but during her life she has lived all over the UK. Her late husband, Frank, was in the RAF and they had two daughters. Peggy also has three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
She moved to Minehead nine years ago – and was once again able to see Steep Holm from her flat on the seafront.
The Dene Lodge staff say she is adored by them, and she was overwhelmed by her party, receiving many cards, gifts and flowers and was “very surprised” to receive a card from the Queen.
