SHOPPERS are reminded that they can park for free in car parks across West Somerset tomorrow (Saturday) to celebrate Small Business Saturday.

Car parks in Minehead, Porlock, Dulverton, Watchet and Williton will be waiving all charges to encourage people to venture out and support their local shops.

Small Business Saturday is a national event, which aims to boost pre-Christmas trade for independent traders.

All of West Somerset Council's car parks will be free, while Somerset County Council will make parking free in its car parks in Station Road and on the seafront in Minehead.

Free parking will be available in Minehead's Clanville, Alexandra Road, Summerland Avenue and North Road car parks and in Porlock both the Central and Doverhay car parks will be participating.

In Watchet Anchor Street, Market Street, Swain Street, West Pier and Harbour Road will be free, in Williton the central car parks will be taking part in the scheme, and all three car parks operated by Dulverton Town Council will also be waiving charges during the weekend.
