A WATCHET Easter event raised over £900 for the charity Elliot’s Touch after people turned out in force to enjoy the activities and sunshine on Sunday.

Over 180 children took part in Elliot’s Easter Egg Hunt, while visitors to the event, which started at the Bell Inn and ended at Watchet Town Football Club, enjoyed all kinds of activities from toy and cake sales to a tombola.

“We were so lucky not only to have the beautiful weather on our side but to also have an amazing turnout,” said Donna Stevens, who started the charity with her husband Paul in memory of their son Elliot, who died in 2015 aged just 13 months.

Elliot’s Touch, which aims to raise awareness of mitochondria disease and cardiomyopathy, supports organisations working on new cures, and has raised over £100,000 to date.
