Letter to the West Somerset Free Press
After a long time in its construction I see the extension to the Minehead lifeboat station is nearly complete, with the standards the RNLI have I am sure the interior will be state of the art and fit for purpose.
Unfortunately the exterior of the building has let down this project.
Being an iconic and listed building in Minehead many people thought the new extension would be built to blend in with the existing look of the building.

I am sure many local residents have had planning permission refused for buildings more in character with the local architecture than this one.
