SIR — Re the effect on Williton of the work on a new roundabout at Washford Cross: in order for local shops and businesses to survive they need the support of the local council. In the coming weeks (and months!) roadside parking will be lost from Williton, and this might have some adverse effect on the local traders. One way of mitigating this would be to offer one hour's free parking in the car park paid for by West Somerset Council Tax payers. The cost of the loss of one business due to lack of customers is likely to be higher than the revenue that West Somerset Council Tax payers have to pay to West Somerset Council for the use of a car park that they have already funded.
