SIR — My husband I have both recently had a spell in Musgrove Park Hospital.

One hears of all the dreadful things that happen to elderly people in some hospitals, but we can honestly say that does not apply to Musgrove.

We are both in our mid 80s and all the staff with whom we came into contact treated us with great kindness and went out of their way to help us.

I had a patient in my ward who was 100 years old. She was treated with gentleness, patience and compassion.

So if anyone is elderly and has to go into Musgrove, don't be afraid.
