SIR — It is with great pride and thought that I remember the veterans of the Normandy Landings on D-Day in June 1945. I was a wartime evacuee but had family and relations in the World War One conflict. I displayed my Union flag on Friday. I had occasion to go to town and never saw a single flag. I was so surprised and disgusted not to see anything from the RBL in Bancks Street, which has become a glorified drinking hole. I'm sure Minehead people were involved and have sad memories of loved ones in the War. SW Knowles, Woodcombe Brake, Minehead.
