A MINEHEAD nursery is celebrating its relaunch with a new name and a new uniform.

Seashells, formerly Minehead First School Playgroup, has also extended its hours and the age range of the children it cares for.

The nursery, which is still located in the grounds of the school, now offers day care for youngsters aged from two to four and an after school club for four to nine-year-olds.

A spokesman said the facility enjoyed a close working relationship with the school and had access to its extensive facilities, including an environmental area, allotment, adventure playground, sensory room, swimming pool, library, ICT suite and music room.

"And at the after school club, children will be able to take part in a wide range of activities, both indoors and out," said the spokesman.

"Help with homework and reading will also be offered."

The nursery is managed by Rebecca Batten and a qualified and experienced team and at its last Ofsted inspection was graded outstanding in all areas.

Staff and youngsters are pictured celebrating the relaunch.
