FIREFIGHTERS from Nether Stowey were mobilised to provide relief for crews who had to tackle a large farm fire near Bridgwater.

They attended an agricultural building which caught alight in Bawdrip early on Monday (August 14).

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service (DSFR) had already sent three crews from Bridgwater and Burnham-on-Sea together with two officers.

They found a 65 ft by 65 ft building containing 200 bales of straw was completely on fire.

An incident support vehicle was then sent from Martock and a second water carrier from Yeovil.

Relief crews from Nether Stowey and Bridgwater were also deployed as the blaze took several hours before it was put out.

The cause was deemed to be accidental.
