As a result of your generosity, a total of £784.25 was raised and has been sent to the hospice. Of this sum, £305 will be used to purchase an item from the ‘wish list’ for the community team and the rest will be used to further the work of the hospice.
To give you an idea of just how much these funds are valued, £500 per day is needed for each individual cared for in the hospice in-patient unit or an emergency ambulance journey to an out-of-hours oncology unity; £126 pays for a home visit by a community nurse; £80 is needed for a nurse’s uniform; and £78 provides specialist counselling for a child who has lost a parent.
Thank you, too, to D J Miles & Co for supplying tea and coffee and to all who baked the cakes and contributed to making the morning such a success.
