BBC1 presenter Paul Martin was given a lesson in mud-horsemanship by the world’s last practitioner of the skill - and also sailed a ’flattie’ - while filming in Watchet.

Paul and a camera crew were in town shooting material for the antiques programme Flog It!. Four programmes with local themes will emanate from the recent valuation day held at Crowcombe Court and will be shown over the next year.

The first will be about Watchet’s maritime history – and Paul’s muddy, hands-on experience of that is featured in this week’s Free Press.
