Yeovil's aerospace industry suffered another blow when it was announced that Normalair-Garrett is to lay off about 90 staff at the end of March.

It is understood that a mix of cancelled orders, rescheduling of orders and general downturn in business are the reasons behind the decision.
The company currently employ in the region of 800 people in Yeovil, and it is hoped that about a third of the announced job losses will be voluntary ones.
It is also understood that a cross section of the company will be affected, although manual workers will suffer most with about 30 per cent of the total number of job cuts being made among them.
