News that a Yeovil playgroup has scooped a lottery windfall has been welcomed by a local MP.

Parcroft Playgroup will receive £82,000 to build a large temporary building to provide more child spaces.

This should allow more youngsters to join the playgroup in the future.

David Laws, Liberal Democrat MP for the Yeovil constituency, said: "I know how valuable the child care group at Parcroft is to the local community and how spaces are in demand.

"I congratulate those at the playgroup who put together the bid."
